Project Summary
This Grandhome home office was designed to create a practical, stylish working space for two people within one cohesive fitted furniture installation.
The finished design combines two dedicated workstations, generous desk space, integrated shelving, concealed storage and custom slat wall panelling. With warm wood finishes, dark contrast panels and softly lit display sections, the room feels organised, purposeful and considered without losing its character.

The Brief
The client wanted a home office that could comfortably support two workstations within the same room. It needed to provide plenty of usable desk space, organised storage and room for books, files and everyday work essentials.
The design also had to feel connected to the wider interior scheme of the home, using custom slat wall panelling to match the main decor already introduced elsewhere in the build.

The Challenge
A double workstation can easily feel crowded if the layout is not carefully planned. The challenge here was to create two separate working zones without making the room feel divided or overly busy.
The unit also needed to balance open display areas with closed storage, so the office could remain practical day to day while still looking refined when not in use. With desks, drawers, shelving, cabinetry and wall panelling all included, the proportions had to be carefully considered.

The Komandor Solution
Komandor Scotland designed a made to measure home office unit that wraps around the room and gives each workstation its own dedicated area.
The main desk section provides a central work zone with drawers beneath for easy access to everyday items. A second workstation sits to the side, creating a separate working area while still feeling part of the same design. Integrated shelving adds space for books, files and display pieces, while closed cabinet sections help keep clutter hidden.
Custom slat wall panelling adds depth and texture to the room, tying the office visually to the rest of the home. Warm LED lighting within the shelving sections gives the design a softer, more premium feel, especially in the evening.

Hinged doors with BLUM push to open fittings complete the unit, helping the darker cabinet fronts remain clean and minimal.
Design Result
The finished home office gives the client a functional space for two without feeling like two separate furniture pieces have been placed in the room. Everything feels connected, from the desk areas and shelving to the slat wall panelling and storage.
It is a strong example of how bespoke fitted furniture can turn a working room into something more considered. Practical, yes, but still warm, detailed and personal to the home.
